Our vacation this year was spent on Block Island, off the coast of Rhode Island. Cars are not recommended, so we obliged and took the ferry from Montauk Point.

We made our first trip to the Block in 1997 and loved it so much, we decided to return again this year. We had a fantastic week and the weather was much better - no rain at all and for most of the time, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

You can reach Block Island by ferry from Montauk Point (sorry, it is a people only ferry).  If you wish to take your car, you'll need to drive to Port Judith, Rhode Island and hop the ferry from there.
